Polyurethane Reactive (PUR) hot melt has a combination of several positive properties, the fast connection of a hot melt, and the strong adhesion of a reactive polyurethane. PUR hot melt is not available in the known hot melt forms such as glue sticks, granules, pearls or blocks, but only in vacuum sealed packaging such as 2KG or 200KG drums. PUR hot melt solidifies quickly to a solid phase just like regular hot melt, although it is often more flexible than most EVA hot melts. After application, the PUR hot melt comes into contact with moisture, which activates the cross-linking process, so that the hot melt cannot melt again. There are both high and low temperature PUR adhesives, there are also strong developments in LOW-emission products, which are less harmful. PUR hot melts can contain free isocyanates.
A fast and strong adhesive bond
Polyurethane hot melt is ideal for a wide variety of applications because of its strength and durability. PUR is often used in woodworking, construction, textiles and many other applications that require a super strong bond. PUR hot melt sets quickly and is therefore ideal for automated, fast processes.
