Hot melt is a carrier (usually a plastic transparent sheet) with a glue layer of hot melt on it. This hot melt provides the adhesive property.

Other adhesive layers are available, these are usually acrylics:
- On waterbase
- With volatile solvents
- As a hot melt acrylic

Various types of hot melt are available to produce all kinds of tapes, heat resistant tapes, removable tapes, freezer tapes, etc.
Can a hot melt also be used immediately?
A hot melt glue can also be used directly in various production and assembly processes.
