There are several environmentally friendly means for quickly and easily removing hot melt adhesive from tanks, hoses and production line surfaces.
There are different types of cleaning agents, for cleaning external surfaces, for cleaning internal adhesive systems or cleaning an adhesive roller.
General cleaning agent
The most commonly used agent is PD 500 FS, this is a biological agent without solvents that works very effectively.
Rinsing of an adhesive system
If your adhesive system is seriously contaminated, it is possible to clean it with a specific cleaning agent. The disadvantage of this product is that it can work for a long time, because not all contamination is released immediately, but in the long run when the machine is back in use. Rinsing an adhesive system with cleaning agent is therefore a specialist, intensive job.
The most common form of rinsing is done by simply rinsing the hot melt adhesive system with hot melt. Preferably a slightly thicker one (higher viscosity) so that contaminants are picked up more easily.
Prevention of pollution
It is absolutely preferable to avoid contamination, therefore preferably use clean-running hot melt adhesives and use the correct equipment settings. We are happy to advise you on the correct hot melt adhesive, machine settings and working method.
