Intercol makes all kinds of adhesives for labeling machines, both hot melt, cold glue and self-adhesive glues. Intercol also has a standard range of glue available from stock for manual labeling and semi-automatic, such as glueing machines.
Waterborne cold glue
These have traditionally been casein-based adhesives. The raw material for this usually comes from cow's milk. This glue has good adhesion to glass and paper, and a uniquely high adhesive strength, especially on cold bottles.
Synthetic adhesives have also existed for years, which mainly derive their adhesive strength from resins for bonding to plastics such as PE, PP and PET. This product group has also replaced many casein adhesives with other raw materials in recent years.
Hot Melt Labeling
Hot melt labeling is also gaining ground in the food packaging industry, although the limitation is that in principle there must always be labeling all around, hot melt labeling does offer a number of advantages:
- Very efficient glue consumption, only on 2 vertical strips on the label.
- Transparent labels possible
- Adheres to all kinds of plastics, such as PE, PP and PET
- Can handle product expansion
- High speeds are possible with fairly simple machines
- Relatively easy to set
